Why I do this work
I started bookkeeping the way a lot of people find their way, by watching someone I care about struggle without it. Growing up, I watched my father navigate the highs and lows of running his own small business. Time and again I noticed, the thing that made or broke a business wasn't always the product or the hustle, it was the disconnect between the owner and the real financial state of the business.
Today I work with small service-based businesses that are serious about growth but don't have the time or bandwidth to manage their own books. As a certified bookkeeper and QuickBooks ProAdvisor, I help owners understand where their money is going, whether they're profitable, and what their numbers are telling them.
New York has been home for nearly 30 years. When I step away from the books I keep things low-key. A walk with my dog Alfie, a good cup of coffee, and staying connected to the community I have grown up in.
